EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS APPLICATION
PROCEDURES TYPE OF ASSISTANCE: The
Mid-Ohio District Nurses Association will make available scholarships for Fiscal
Year 2007-2008. The number and
amount of awards varies annually based on the approved budget. The scholarships
are to be used to support MOD members seeking a BSN, MSN, Doctorate in Nursing,
or directly related field of doctoral study.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY: 1.
Each applicant must be a member in good standing of the American Nurses
Association and Mid-Ohio District. 2.
Each applicant must enroll in NLN-accredited or temporarily accredited programs
leading to a Bachelor's Degree 3.
Each applicant must be accepted in the chosen program; if acceptance has not yet
been granted, the candidate 4.
Each applicant must demonstrate the ability to complete the chosen program. PROCEDURES FOR
APPLICATION AND PROGRAM PARTICIPATION: 1.
Apply and gain acceptance to the educational program. If acceptance is not
received before the application 2.
Complete the application for the scholarship and be sure all materials are
submitted by the deadline date: 3.
Scholarship recipients will be notified by mail in January. The check for money
awarded will be sent as soon as SELECTION CRITERIA: 1.
The applicant's professional contributions to nursing through ANA membership,
participation in MOD activities, 2.
The previous work experience in Nursing will be considered. 3.
The applicant's apparent ability and commitment to complete the educational
program will be evaluated. 4.
The candidate's future plans to use the additional knowledge in Nursing will be
considered. 5.
Each applicant may receive a scholarship only one time. However, candidates not
awarded a scholarship may re-apply during future application periods.
